According to reliable documents from Croatian State Archives and the Pula Department of Conservation of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, a villa named “Antique Villa Rustica” was situated on this site. During the execution of preparatory and exploratory works, the remains of this villa’ foundations were found as well as fresh water tank and the remains of a Roman mosaic (up to six square meters), thus making the site even more valuable and interesting. The agreement with the Archaeological Museum of Istria was signed concerning the exploration of the site, conducting an analysis about its protection and presentation according to which the exploratory works and preservation of archaeological artifacts and their presentation were performed.
